The National Police Service has dismissed social media reports claiming that the Officer Commanding Station at Central Police Station was due in court.
The National Police Service issued a statement on the evening of Tuesday, May 19, saying the reports were erroneous and misleading. The service stressed that matters involving officers are handled through internal administrative and disciplinary mechanisms.
OCS Dishen Angoya had been linked to controversy after releasing 64 suspects connected to chaos during fuel price protests. Earlier reports claimed he improperly conferred a benefit on himself.
Angoya was taken to Lang’ata Hospital after falling ill. The police service confirmed he was not processed for a court appearance and could face an inquiry by the Internal Affairs Unit.
