The precautionary measure was imposed due to danger to society's safety, as determined by the local Guarantee Court. The case, known as 'Caso Josefa', has mourned the northern commune. The minor's death was confirmed last Tuesday, March 16. The same day, OS9 of Carabineros arrested the defendant regarding her alleged responsibility in the death. The woman had a cohabitation relationship with the victim's father. Experts explain that the girl's body had injuries of different dates on various body parts, compatible with a pattern of habitual abuse. On Wednesday, the detention was reviewed, extended until March 21 awaiting forensic reports. The formalization was carried out by the Sistema de Análisis Delictual y Focos Investigativos (SACFI) of the Antofagasta Regional Prosecutor's Office. An investigation period of 90 days was set.
