Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez today presented the proposal for the Social Climate Plan, allocating 9.099 billion euros by 2032 to aid electric vehicles and energy efficiency in housing.
The initiative is part of the instrument Spain will send to the European Commission before the end of 2026. The plan aims to cushion the impact of the energy transition on vulnerable households and microenterprises.
Of the total funds, 4.376 million euros are allocated to mobility, including grants for electric trucks, public transport fleets and a single social pass. Another 4.723 million euros will go to housing rehabilitation and energy communities.
Sánchez stated at the event in Madrid that “the spirit of the plan is that no one has to choose between making ends meet or reaching the end of the century”. The document is open for public consultation until 29 June.
Vice-President Sara Aagesen and ministers Óscar Puente and Isabel Rodríguez took part in the presentation. The plan will be funded by the EU Social Climate Fund and national contributions.
