T-Mobile launches DoorDash deliveries for 5G home internet

T-Mobile has begun using DoorDash to deliver its 5G home internet equipment to customers for same-day service. The free deliveries are available where both services operate, starting this April. Customers must install the gateway themselves.

T-Mobile now offers same-day delivery of its 5G home internet gateway via DoorDash, allowing customers to track shipments like food orders. This service expands on the carrier's earlier use of DoorDash for phone deliveries, which started in November. Plans begin at $35 per month when combining with voice services, bundles, or autopay features, with no equipment fees or annual contracts required, as first reported by CNET. Representatives from T-Mobile and DoorDash did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the rollout. Customers receive the 5G Gateway, which connects to cellular networks, and must set it up themselves by plugging it in and linking it to their account. No professional installation is included, though a technician visit can be scheduled if needed. Rival providers like Verizon include technician support with deliveries, but those take longer. T-Mobile provides a 15-day trial period for returns. Tests of the service showed download speeds from 87 to 318 Mbps and uploads from 14 to 56 Mbps, though performance varies by location.
