Take-Two CEO says no LA Noire sequel announcement but teams are exploring IP

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick stated there is nothing to announce regarding a sequel to LA Noire. Speaking at the Iicon summit, he noted that the company's teams are always evaluating their intellectual properties for future projects. Zelnick emphasized that any announcement would come from Rockstar Games.

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, addressed questions about a potential LA Noire sequel during a discussion at the recent Iicon summit. 'There's nothing to announce on LA Noire specifically,' Zelnick said, 'and if there were, it would be Rockstar announcing it, not me.' He added that Take-Two is broadly 'looking at doing something in the future with all of our intellectual property' and that teams 'are always looking at what we have and we're always thinking about it.' The key factor, he noted, is whether a team is passionate about a project at any given time. (via IGN reporting on the summit comments. The conversation also covered GTA 6's development and pricing. LA Noire, developed by Team Bondi and Rockstar Games, launched 15 years ago and retains a dedicated fanbase. Rockstar had indicated in 2012 that it would not rule out a follow-up, though none has materialized since. Take-Two's subsidiary Rockstar Games acquired developer Video Games Deluxe last year, renaming it Rockstar Australia. The studio is led by Brendan McNamara, who directed the original LA Noire, and previously handled a VR version of the game in 2017. These developments have fueled speculation among fans hoping for a revival of the detective title, praised in a 2011 Eurogamer review as 'a genuinely mature game' for patient players.
