Tesla releases 2025 Impact Report on abundance mission

Tesla has released its 2025 Impact Report, which outlines progress toward its mission of building a world of amazing abundance through its products in energy, storage, transportation, and manufacturing.

The report emphasizes the role of Artificial Intelligence in improving efficiency, vehicle safety, and affordability while helping to decarbonize the economy. Tesla states that high-volume manufacturing is key to lowering costs, noting that the base Model 3 price is below the average for new cars in the United States.

Tesla also highlighted operational savings, with the Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive costing $0.77 per mile, compared to $0.81 for the Toyota RAV4, $0.85 for the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and $1.15 for the BMW X3.

On emissions, Tesla customers avoided 37 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2025, an amount equal to the annual energy use of nearly 5 million homes. The company added that each vehicle prevents about 32 tons of emissions over its 17-year average lifespan.

The report details advancements for the Cybercab, including a new reaction injection molding process that reduces paint cycles and cuts manufacturing emissions by 35 percent while eliminating volatile organic compounds. Tesla plans to deploy the vehicle as the primary model in its Robotaxi fleet, using innovations like 4680 battery cells, steer-by-wire technology, and an unboxed manufacturing process.
