World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler called the pins the hardest he has seen on tour, including at recent U.S. Opens. After posting 2 under par through 36 holes, he noted that organizers could set the winning score wherever they chose based purely on placement. Scheffler said the test felt different from courses like Oakmont because of the manufactured slopes on Donald Ross-designed greens.
