U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday evening to begin a state visit to China. This marks the first U.S. presidential trip to China in nearly nine years and Trump's second since 2017.
Trump was greeted with an elaborate ceremony upon landing at Beijing Capital International Airport, where he was received by Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng. Unlike his previous visit, he was accompanied by his son Eric Trump and daughter-in-law Lara Trump rather than first lady Melania Trump.
The visit runs from May 13 to 15 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two leaders are set to hold in-depth discussions on bilateral relations and issues of global peace and development.
Trump's entourage includes tech leaders such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. Topics expected during the summit include the Iran conflict and technology rivalry.
