Vans has introduced the Loafer Mid, a new mid-height version of its leather loafer, available exclusively at Japanese retailer Billy’s. The shoe features an extended ankle collar on the brand’s signature vulcanized rubber sole. It comes in black and brown leather uppers.
The Vans Loafer Mid builds on the original loafer’s moc-toed design and tassel accents with a taller ankle construction. Hard-wearing matte leather forms the uppers, paired with classic loafer details like a pinched moc toe and leather tassel on the vamp. This creates a contrast with Vans’ familiar skate silhouette, now elevated to ankle height. Billy’s offers the shoe in two mid constructions, in black and brown colorways. The release underscores Vans’ push into unconventional footwear amid a crowded sneaker market. The California brand, known for understated kicks, experiments with bolder forms while retaining wearable elements like the vulcanized sole. Vans positions the Loafer Mid as a head-turning statement, blending loafer heritage with skate roots.
