Wisconsin stepmother sentenced to prison for child neglect

A Wisconsin stepmother has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to chronically neglecting her 15-year-old stepdaughter, who weighed only 58 pounds when authorities intervened. Brittany Hull, 33, received the term plus four years of probation in a Marathon County court.

The sentencing came Tuesday following Hull's guilty plea to chronic neglect of a child causing great bodily harm. An intentional child abuse charge was dismissed but considered during the hearing. Hull is barred from contacting the victim and must complete a parenting class as part of the sentence.
