The episode drew backlash for creative missteps and a lack of excitement ahead of SummerSlam. Sources told WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select that the show's importance was heightened by its location at the Intuit Dome, which has become a home base for WWE alongside Madison Square Garden.
Specific segments drew criticism. The opening segment between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi featured Paul Heyman's microphone issues and a botched Fall From Grace by Oba Femi. The Danhausen and Joe Hendry concert segment included boxer Ryan Garcia, which one source called the most unnecessary part.
Garcia has a history of racist and homophobic comments online. He was expelled from the World Boxing Council in July 2024 for using racial slurs during a livestream, though the ban was lifted in November 2025. WWE faced criticism for featuring him on the show.
