Xreal has officially unveiled its Aura Android XR glasses, which will launch this fall powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Reality Elite processor. The announcement came during the Augmented World Expo in Long Beach, California.
The glasses, previously known as Project Aura, connect to a separate processor puck and offer performance comparable to high-end headsets in a lighter form. They feature a 70-degree field of view, hand tracking, and support for Google's Android XR platform with Gemini AI integration.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon Reality Elite chip delivers up to 60 percent better GPU performance and 160 percent higher NPU performance than the previous generation. It also improves battery life by 20 percent and runs cooler, supporting up to 4.4K resolution per eye.
Xreal is accepting $99 reservations now that include a $100 launch credit. The company targets initial availability in the fall for the US, UK, Japan, Canada and South Korea, though no final price has been announced.
