The 25th edition of the ZDF charity gala 'A Heart for Children' took place in Berlin, where moderator Johannes B. Kerner, alongside prominent guests, presented national and international aid projects for children in need. Organized by the 'Bild' newspaper's relief organization, the broadcast concluded with an impressive total of more than 26 million euros in donations.

Kerner reacted enthusiastically to the outcome: «Wow, what a result! From the heart, thank you for this great, extraordinary engagement». At the donation hotlines during the live show, figures such as journalist Dunja Hayali, soccer executive Uli Hoeneß, goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger, singer Sarah Connor, and numerous political celebrities answered calls and encouraged contributions.

The evening featured musical performances: Singer Roland Kaiser performed 'Love is Everything' by Rosenstolz, and Chinese pianist Lang Lang played a piece by French composer Yann Tiersen. However, the live show started with a technical glitch in the phone system. Kerner noted: «It seemed busy, but actually we had a small technical problem». He urged callers to try again, which did not hinder the generous donations.

The event highlights ongoing commitment to child welfare and demonstrates the impact of public fundraising initiatives in Germany.
