49 Winchester announces album Change of Plans

Acclaimed country-rock band 49 Winchester has revealed details of their upcoming album Change of Plans, set for release on May 15 via Lucille Records and MCA. The announcement coincides with the debut of new track Pardon Me, produced by Grammy-winning Dave Cobb in Savannah, Georgia. This project marks a new phase for the Virginia-based group, blending their Appalachian roots with evolved storytelling.

The six-piece band from Virginia, known for fusing Southern rock and country with raw authenticity, shared the news on February 9, 2026. Change of Plans captures their creative growth after years of touring and critical success, including a recent cover of Black Sabbath's Changes as their MCA debut. Executive produced by Dave Cobb—who has worked with artists like Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson—the album was recorded at his Savannah studio, emphasizing emotional depth and instrumental grit.

Pardon Me sets the album's tone with vulnerable lyrics and rugged sounds, reflecting personal evolution. Led by singer-songwriter Isaac Gibson, alongside Bus Shelton on lead guitar, Chase Chafin on bass, Noah Patrick on pedal steel, Tim Hall on keys, and Justin Louthian on drums, 49 Winchester maintains their Appalachian heritage. Their live prowess shone in sold-out shows at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium last November.

This year, the band launches a headline tour starting February 5 in Oxford, Mississippi, with support slots for Eric Church and Tim McGraw. MCA's partnership with New West Records handles the 2026 release, with future albums exclusive to MCA. Pre-orders and the new track are available now, signaling an exciting expansion for their fanbase.
