Anitta announced the duet 'Choka Choka' as the latest preview of her forthcoming album Equilibrivm, due out on April 16. The track follows last month's single 'Pinterest' and succeeds her 2024 release Funk Generation. Co-produced by Rio de Janeiro DJ Papatinho and Nigerian producer Daramola, the song blends languages to capture its theme of empowerment, as Anitta explained in a press statement: “Choka Choka” “is about a free woman—self-aware, cheeky, complex, and incredibly powerful. Elements that have always been part of my universe.” As first reported by Pitchfork, listeners can stream the song now. Anitta is scheduled to debut the track live on Saturday Night Live this Saturday, serving as the musical guest with host Colman Domingo. Meanwhile, Shakira plans to resume her international tour supporting her 2024 album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. The tour includes U.S. arena dates in June, followed by 11 shows in Madrid at a pop-up stadium named in her honor.
