Arifpay acquires four tech and financial firms

Arifpay announced the acquisition of four firms to expand its operations in Ethiopia's digital payments sector while reporting significant transaction volumes from 2022 to 2026.

Arifpay, a leading digital payment provider in Ethiopia, has acquired four financial and technology companies as sister firms. Three acquisitions, including Jami, Meftehe Microfinance, and Artsplus, occurred between 2025 and 2026. The company finalized the fourth acquisition, though its official launch remains pending.

The firm reported processing over 425 million digital payment orders, totaling 156.9 billion Birr, or about $1 billion USD, from 2022 to 2026. This activity supports Ethiopia's push toward a cashless economy and greater financial inclusion.

Arifpay now offers 15 innovative solutions and products. These moves aim to integrate technology for businesses, merchants, and consumers across the country.
