A man was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter after being injured with a stabbing weapon in Vega, Haninge south of Stockholm. Police are investigating the incident as attempted murder following an alert shortly after 7pm. One person has been taken in for questioning.
Police report that a man was found outdoors in Vega, Haninge shortly after 7pm on Wednesday. A passerby found the man and alerted police. “We believe the crime may have occurred in a residence and that he walked out from there,” said Carina Skagerlind, police spokesperson.
The man was talkative when transported to hospital by ambulance helicopter. “I have no update on his condition other than that we could talk to him,” Skagerlind added. A residence at the scene has been cordoned off for technical examination.
One person was taken from the scene for questioning, though it is unclear if more suspects are being sought. “It is too early to say if it will lead to an arrest,” Skagerlind said. The incident is being investigated as suspected attempted murder.
