AURORA shares new song 'A Place To Call Home' for World of Warcraft: Midnight

Norwegian singer AURORA has released 'A Place To Call Home', a new track for the upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion. The song, created with Blizzard Entertainment's music team, explores themes of belonging and resilience in Azeroth. A accompanying music video connects AURORA's vision with the game's universe.

AURORA unveiled 'A Place To Call Home' on Monday, blending her signature ethereal vocals with an uplifting cinematic sound that builds to a dramatic crescendo. Per a press release, the track delves into themes of belonging and resilience set within the World of Warcraft realm of Azeroth. Blizzard Entertainment, the game's producer, collaborated with AURORA on the music, which accompanies a music video merging her artistic ideas with the franchise's lore. The release follows Malevolence's 'Twelve To Zero' by about a month; that metalcore track was penned in just 12 hours at Blizzard's challenge to evoke the scale and tension of Midnight. AURORA has prior gaming ties, including a 2022 performance in Sky: Children of the Light during its Season of AURORA, featuring her music-inspired quests and items. Recently, she launched her memoir 'All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend' to mark the 10th anniversary of her debut album. AURORA is also debuting as Tomora with Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers. Their album 'COME CLOSER' arrives April 17, with singles 'RING THE ALARM', 'THE THING', 'COME CLOSER' and 'SOMEWHERE ELSE' already out. Rowlands told NME in February, “We got together to make music without any idea that it would lead to anything or that we were even making an album. I just cherished this moment of freedom, creativity and making something great.” AURORA added, “My god, we’re having a lot of fun. It feels so much like we’re back to the roots of why it’s beautiful to make music: there’s no pressure or expectation.” Tomora's live dates kick off this week at Manchester’s New Century Hall on Wednesday and London’s EartH Hackney on Thursday, followed by festivals like Coachella and Øya.
