Battlefield 6 players create larger maps while devs acknowledge need

Fans of Battlefield 6 have taken matters into their own hands by designing expansive maps using the game's creation tools, as the development team admits the title requires bigger play areas. Lead producer David Sirland confirmed ongoing plans to expand maps and weapons over time. This community effort highlights player-driven innovation amid the game's strong sales of over 10 million copies.

Battlefield 6, released to generally positive reception, has sparked calls from players for larger maps in Conquest mode to enhance large-scale battles. Rather than waiting for official updates, community members have utilized Battlefield Portal and REDSEC to build custom experiences.

Community-Created Maps

Reddit users andy_6170 and kurtinthegrind collaborated on 'Club House,' a spacious Conquest map designed for 64 players. It includes bot and botless variants, with servers supporting full player counts. The map offers diverse terrain: vehicles for mobility, semi-urban zones for infantry skirmishes, sniper-friendly hills, and open areas ideal for helicopter combat. Additional modes like Tech Center expand the playable space, while Operation Tech Center focuses on a compact building-based scenario.

Developer Response

Battlefield lead producer David Sirland addressed the feedback on X, stating the game 'needs more of the large sandbox types for sure though!' He elaborated that 'maps and weapons is of course the biggest area we'll just keep adding to over time, so this will move in that direction for sure. We are also looking at fixing issues on the existing maps, and changing things up when necessary to make it better too of course.'

Recent updates have eased achievement completion, and Sirland explained bots' role in quickly populating servers for faster matchmaking. As Battlefield 6 approaches the launch of rival Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on November 14 across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC, these additions could help sustain player interest.
