The BBC has unveiled a first-look clip and artwork for Mint, an upcoming eight-part romantic crime drama marking writer-director Charlotte Regan's TV debut. The BBC announced the release of a first-look clip and promotional artwork for Mint on February 13, 2026, just ahead of Valentine's Day. This unconventional crime drama is the television debut of acclaimed filmmaker Charlotte Regan, known for her feature film Scrapper. The eight-part series, produced by House Productions—a division of BBC Studios—and Fearless Minds, is set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Mint stars Emma Laird, recognized from The Brutalist and Mayor of Kingstown, alongside Ben Coyle-Larner, an acting newcomer better known as the musician Loyle Carner. The clip captures the first encounter between the protagonists, Shannon and Arran, at the center of a story about intense romance, emotional devastation, and love amid external fear and family dynamics. Additional cast includes Sam Riley from Firebrand and Control, Laura Fraser of Breaking Bad and Shetland, Lewis Gribben from Somewhere Boy and Black Mirror, and Lindsay Duncan known for Truelove and Sherwood.

Filming took place in and around Glasgow in 2025. The series was commissioned by BBC Drama Director Lindsay Salt and is created, written, directed, and executive produced by Charlotte Regan. Production is led by Angus Lamont, with executive producers Tessa Ross, Juliette Howell, and Theo Barrowclough for House Productions; Jolyon Symonds for Fearless Minds; and Rebecca Ferguson for the BBC. BBC Studios will manage global sales.

The first four episodes are scheduled to premiere at the Berlinale—Berlin International Film Festival—on February 15, 2026.
