Boston.com lists 15 must-see concerts for fall 2025

Boston.com has published a guide to 15 standout concerts at top venues in Boston and Cambridge from September to November 2025, covering genres from pop and rock to jazz and folk. In pop, David Byrne promotes his upcoming album 'Who Is the Sky?' with shows October 2-4 at Boch Center Wang Theatre, featuring 13 musicians, singers, and dancers. Other pop acts include Benson Boone on September 2 at TD Garden, Shawn Mendes on September 25, Lorde on September 26, and Laufey on October 27, all at TD Garden.

Rock and blues highlights include Sparks' September 11 performance at Berklee Performance Center, marking their 26th album 'Mad!'. Alabama Shakes reunite for September 14-15 at MGM Music Hall with new music. Robert Plant’s Saving Grace plays November 6 at Shubert Theatre, ahead of their delayed album. Patti Smith celebrates the 50th anniversary of 'Horses' on November 24 at The Orpheum, joined by original band members. The Lemonheads perform November 26 at The Wilbur, previewing new album 'Love Chant'.

Singer-songwriter shows feature Alex G's September 10-11 dates at Roadrunner for 'Headlights', Neko Case on October 23 at The Wilbur for 'Neon Grey Midnight Green', and John Legend on November 7 at MGM Music Hall, performing his debut 'Get Lifted' in full.

Folk and country include Eric Andersen's October 4 show at Club Passim for his double album 'Dance of Love and Death', and Buskin & Batteau on October 18.

Jazz offerings: Arturo Sandoval September 5-6 at Scullers for 'My Foolish Heart', and Revolutionary Snake Ensemble October 4 at Regattabar for 'Serpentine'. Ken Field described their sound as blending New Orleans brass, funk, and modern improv.
