British Dressage announces venue changes for Scottish summer events

British Dressage has changed venues for three major Scottish summer competitions due to personnel shifts at Rockrose Equestrian. The events will proceed on their original dates at new locations in Fife, Perthshire and Aberdeenshire. Organizers prioritized minimal disruption for members.

British Dressage confirmed that Rockrose Equestrian in Haddington, near Edinburgh, withdrew from hosting the Scottish Championships (12-14 June), Area Festival (17-19 July, plus 16 July) and summer regionals (8-9 August) following a change in organizing personnel there. A BD spokesperson noted on 1 April that the team worked with the rules and fixtures committee to reassign the events swiftly, thanks to cooperation from other Scottish venues. All fixtures maintain their planned schedules to limit changes to competitors' plans. The Scottish Championships move to Highfield at Howe in Fife. The Area Festival shifts to Netherton Equestrian in Perthshire, and the regionals go to Bogenraith Equestrian in Aberdeenshire. BD acknowledged potential impacts from the new locations but selected sites with proven track records based on prior applications, given tight timelines. James Cunningham of Rockrose expressed thanks on 31 March to the local dressage team, volunteers and BD for a decade of support. He affirmed that dressage will continue monthly at Rockrose with affiliated and non-affiliated days, with dates to be posted on their Facebook page. BD thanked the new hosts and Rockrose for past contributions.
