Brynäs has officially added 19-year-old forward Milton Gästrin on loan from his NHL organization. The Swedish talent has trained with the club recently and will now play in the SHL.
Gästrin joins Brynäs after playing in North America. He is viewed as one of Sweden's top young players in his age group.
The move gives Gästrin a chance to develop in a larger role with senior hockey in Gävle. Brynäs sees him as another addition to a roster that reached the SHL top and played in last season's SM final.
In a video posted by the club on X, Gästrin said the decision felt right. "Känns som en förening som vill framåt, och det jag vill komma till, man vill alltid vara med och vinna och tävla i allting. Just därför känns Brynäs som en bra klubb," he stated.
Brynäs expects the loan to benefit both the player and the team as it prepares for the upcoming SHL season.
