Caleb Wilson remains sidelined for UNC-Clemson amid hand injury recovery

North Carolina freshman Caleb Wilson, out since fracturing his left hand on February 10 against Miami, will miss the Tar Heels' ACC matchup against Clemson on March 3. Despite progress in recovery, the projected NBA lottery pick is limited to non-contact workouts as No. 18 UNC (23-6) hosts the Tigers (21-8).

Following his hand fracture announced last month, UNC freshman forward Caleb Wilson is confirmed unavailable for the March 3, 2026, game against Clemson at the Smith Center, per the ACC availability report. The Tar Heels, who have won four of their last five without him, face the Tigers at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Coach Hubert Davis updated Wilson's status: the cast has been removed, and he is doing individual drills like dribbling, shooting, and catching, but no contact or 5-on-5 yet.

Clemson coach Brad Brownell praised Wilson's talent while noting UNC's depth under Davis: "He's an incredible talent, player, but I think Hubert's done an unbelievable job."

The Tigers seek a third straight win over UNC, a program first, as both teams battle for ACC positioning.
