Carlos Alcaraz withdraws from 2026 ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam

World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz has pulled out of the 2026 ABN AMRO Open after winning the Australian Open, leaving a strong field led by Alexander Zverev and Alex de Minaur. The ATP 500 tournament, set for February 9-15 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, will feature top players including Felix Auger-Aliassime and Daniil Medvedev. Despite the absence, seven top-20 ranked players are confirmed to compete.

The 53rd edition of the ABN AMRO Open, an indoor hard-court ATP 500 event established in 1974, is scheduled at Rotterdam Ahoy from February 9 to 15, 2026. Qualifying rounds will occur on February 7 and 8, with the main draw featuring 32 singles players over five rounds and no first-round byes. The tournament director is Richard Krajicek, and the draw is set for February 6 at a time to be announced.

Alcaraz, who defeated Alex de Minaur 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 to win the 2025 title, cited his recent Australian Open victory as the reason for withdrawal. The singles entry list includes top seeds Alexander Zverev (No. 4), Alex de Minaur (No. 6), Felix Auger-Aliassime (No. 8), Alexander Bublik (No. 10), Daniil Medvedev (No. 11), Jack Draper (No. 13), Karen Khachanov (No. 18), and Cameron Norrie (No. 26). Other notable participants are Tallon Griekspoor, the home favorite, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Hubert Hurkacz, and wildcards Stan Wawrinka—a 2015 champion—and Jesper de Jong.

Former winners in the field include Auger-Aliassime (2022) and Medvedev (2023), alongside Wawrinka. The total prize money is €2,462,660, with the singles champion earning €460,555 and 500 ranking points. Sessions run from 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, shifting to 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, culminating in the doubles final at 1 p.m. and singles final at 3:30 p.m. on February 15.
