Casting begins for Wolfenstein 3 at MachineGames

MachineGames has started casting for its next Wolfenstein game, codenamed Valkyrie. A casting call seeks a young Ukrainian orphan character named Sofiya who bonds with protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz. Performance capture is set to begin in April 2026 and continue into 2027.

MachineGames, the studio behind Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has long expressed interest in continuing the Wolfenstein series. At the end of 2025, studio head Jerk Gustafsson stated in a Noclip documentary released in September that the team would like to work on a sequel to Wolfenstein: The New Colossus. "We have a story to tell," Gustafsson said.

In February 2026, Gustafsson told GamesIndustry.biz, Eurogamer's sister site, that the "intention has always been to go back to Wolfenstein" and that MachineGames "wanted to finish the trilogy."

A casting call reported by MP1st confirms progress on Wolfenstein 3, codenamed Valkyrie. Performance capture for the project is scheduled to start in April 2026 and run into 2027. The call is for the role of Sofiya, an orphan aged 8-11 from Ukraine who has a dog named Ralph. Sofiya forms a bond with William "B.J." Blazkowicz, the franchise's lead character also known as Terror-Billy.

The character's description states: "While initially suspicious and traumatised by war, she blooms under the care of the resistance (possibly referring to the Kreisau Circle) as a strong-willed survivor."

Meanwhile, MachineGames is preparing to release Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2026. The game, which launched in 2024, received a five-star review praising it as "Smart, fun and so very Indiana Jones, The Great Circle is a stealth action tour de force that marks a bold new era for MachineGames."

Separately, a Wolfenstein TV series is in development, though Bethesda's Todd Howard has provided no updates on its progress.

Craig Mazin, the showrunner behind HBO's The Last of Us, is developing a television series based on Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3 for the network. The project will continue the story from the 2023 game, exploring its aftermath in the Dungeons & Dragons universe. Unlike a direct adaptation, the series is planned as an ongoing narrative with new and returning characters.

A former senior writer at Sony Santa Monica Studio has revealed that the developer is creating a new franchise set within the God of War universe. The information comes from a now-deleted LinkedIn profile, which described contributions to narrative vision and creative direction for the project. Industry reports tie this to prior hints about a game that feels like a new IP but expands the existing one.
