Central Bank of Egypt hosts Bank of Ghana delegations on AI and cybersecurity

The Central Bank of Egypt hosted two delegations from the Bank of Ghana to exchange expertise in data management, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and cybersecurity.

The first delegation visited the Central Bank of Egypt over several days to learn about Egypt’s experience in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and data governance. The group was introduced to the bank’s integrated data management system, SupTech and RegTech applications, and the use of AI to support monetary policy and inflation forecasting.

Discussions covered the Digital Transformation Strategy and initiatives such as the Instant Payment Network, InstaPay application, and the Digital Financial Identity system. The second delegation spent two days focusing on cybersecurity and reviewed the operational framework of the Egyptian Financial Computing Incident Response Team.

The delegation examined the Egyptian Financial Cybersecurity Framework, with an enhanced second version currently being prepared. The visits reflect the Central Bank of Egypt’s commitment to technical cooperation with African central banks.
