The Colorado Eagles advanced to the AHL Western Conference Finals after a 3-2 victory over the Coachella Valley Firebirds on Wednesday night at Blue Arena. The win gave the Eagles a 3-1 series victory and marked their first appearance at this stage.
Bryan Yoon, Tristen Nielsen and Gavin Brindley scored within a five-minute span in the second period to overcome a two-goal deficit. The Eagles held on for the victory and improved to 6-0 on home ice in the postseason. Trent Miner made 23 saves in the win.
