Commissioner general Demelash says work underway against cross-border terrorist drones

Addis Ababa, Megabit 29, 2018 (EFM SI) – Federal Police Commissioner General Demelash G/Michael stated at the conference that work is progressing to safeguard against terrorist drones originating from across the border, by expanding community engagement and intelligence-led counter-terrorism efforts.

The 20th Police Commissioners Conference is underway under the motto “Police Unity for Lasting Peace.” Demelash noted that reforms in security institutions over recent transformative years have enabled the police force to effectively carry out national missions.

Efforts focus on building a modern, disciplined, and professional police force equipped with contemporary technology and logistics. Domestic and international partnerships are being strengthened to boost counter-terrorism and investigative capacities.
