Crossfire revealed as tactical shooter from That's No Moon

Crossfire, a new single-player tactical action game, was revealed during the Summer Game Fest opening ceremony on June 5. The title marks the debut project from independent studio That's No Moon.

The game follows two rival operators who must collaborate to survive. It features a third-person perspective that blends stealth and grounded combat. That's No Moon was founded in 2021 by Taylor Kurosaki as chief creative officer and Jacob Minkoff as game director. Both previously worked on the campaign for the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot at Infinity Ward. A key feature is the Adaptive Cover mechanic. This system uses hundreds of animations in Unreal 5 to let the player adjust stance dynamically based on terrain and nearby enemies. Smilegate will publish the game on consoles while Team K1, a Tencent subsidiary, handles PC. It is scheduled for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, though no date has been set.
