Delhi police bust prescription drug trafficking network, 5 arrested

Delhi police have busted an international network trafficking banned prescription drugs such as Zolpidem, Tramadol and Diazepam to the United States. Five persons—Abhishek Bhargava, Yasar Khan, Nitin, Neeraj Raghav and Amitesh Rai—have been arrested. The seizure of a parcel in Moti Nagar unravelled the operation.

Delhi police announced on Monday the bust of an international drug trafficking operation involving two pharmacy owners, a home appliances repair company, and an international courier service provider.

The case traces back to September 25, 2025, when a parcel was intercepted at a courier warehouse on Rama Road in Moti Nagar. Officers found commercial quantities of psychotropic substances concealed as lace and cotton products, with batch numbers masked using marker ink.

"The packet was intercepted at a courier warehouse on Rama Road. Strips of psychotropic medicines meant for illegal export were found in it," said DCP (Crime) Harsh Indora.

The supply chain ran through Jaybar Services Private Limited, owned by Yasar Khan, who procured medicines from Nitin of Ganpati Pharma and Amitesh of Maa Gayatri Pharma. Payments were made in cash with fake bills generated for legitimacy. Neeraj Raghav coordinated between suppliers, while Abhishek Bhargava handled packaging using forged KYC documents and fake sender details. Additional drugs were recovered from Bhargava, and Yasar had a prior narcotics case in Lucknow.

Thousands of tablets were seized, pointing to a large-scale syndicate targeting the illegal pharmaceutical market abroad. The case is registered under the NDPS Act.
