Dimash Kudaibergen awarded ambassador of Turkic world culture

On March 5, Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen received the title of Ambassador of Culture of the Turkic World at the Astana Opera theater. He became the second person globally to earn this honor, following Turkish Nobel laureate Aziz Sancar. The ceremony also recognized actress Samal Yeslyamova for her contributions to Turkic cinema.

The award was presented during a ceremony at the Astana Opera theater in Kazakhstan, as reported by Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the international organization TURKSOY. Dimash Kudaibergen, a prominent Kazakh singer, was honored for his role in promoting Turkic culture on the global stage. This prestigious title marks him as only the second recipient worldwide, after Aziz Sancar, the Turkish scientist who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

In the same event, actress Samal Yeslyamova was awarded the Golden Crane prize for her significant contributions to the development of Turkic cinema, along with a gold medal from TURKSOY. Yeslyamova gained international acclaim for her role as a Kyrgyz migrant girl in the film Ayka, which earned her the Golden Palm Branch at the Cannes International Film Festival.

Sultan Raev highlighted the achievements of both figures, stating, "These two outstanding figures of Kazakh culture proudly represent Kazakh and Turkic cultures on the world stage." He extended an invitation for Kudaibergen to visit Kyrgyzstan and perform his famous song 'Küydüm chok,' written by the great Ata, if possible.

The recognition underscores the efforts of TURKSOY to celebrate and promote Turkic cultural heritage internationally.
