According to the official logline, season 2 explores themes of "survival, resistance, and redemption" as "the battle for the soul of New York begins." It centers on Mayor Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D'Onofrio, who "crushes New York City underfoot" while pursuing the vigilante Daredevil. Beneath the mask, Matt Murdock—portrayed by Charlie Cox—plans a shadow campaign to dismantle the Kingpin's corrupt regime and restore his neighborhood. The story urges: "Resist. Rebel. Rebuild."
The series, created by Dario Scardapane, Chris Ord, and Matt Corman, features returning cast members including Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, and Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn.
