Disney+ releases trailer for revamped Beatles Anthology series

Disney+ has unveiled a trailer for the restored and expanded version of The Beatles Anthology docuseries, marking 30 years since its original airing. The nine-episode series, featuring a new unseen episode with footage from the 1990s, will premiere in batches starting November 26. It includes remastered interviews with Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and archival material from John Lennon.

Overview

The Beatles Anthology, originally broadcast in 1995, chronicles the band's history from their Liverpool roots to global stardom. This landmark multimedia project also included a four-volume album set and a book. The revamped version expands the original eight episodes into nine, with the bonus episode directed by Oliver Murray showcasing previously unreleased footage of McCartney, Harrison, and Starr reflecting on the Anthology project in the 1990s.

Release Details

The first three remastered episodes will stream on Disney+ on November 26, followed by episodes four through six on November 27, and the final three on November 28. The original episodes were directed by Geoff Wonfor, Bob Smeaton, and Matt Longfellow, with production credits including McCartney, Starr, Olivia Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, Jonathan Clyde, and Martin R. Smith.

Restoration was handled by Apple Corps and technicians at Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post in Wellington, New Zealand, the same team behind The Beatles: Get Back. The series features new interviews with the surviving members at the time and archival interviews with Lennon.

This release joins other Beatles content on Disney+ in The Beatles Collection, such as Let It Be, Beatles ’64, and Get Back.
