Egypt and France see trade exchange rise to $2.96 billion in 2025

The value of trade exchange between Egypt and France increased to $2.96 billion in 2025, up 1% from 2024, according to CAPMAS figures released on the occasion of a presidential meeting.

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics released the data in a statement tied to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday. The visit focused on bilateral ties and the inauguration of Senghor University's new headquarters.

Egyptian exports to France rose 4.6% to $1.14 billion, led by fertilisers at $313 million and electrical machinery at $260 million. Imports from France declined 1.6% to $1.82 billion, with pharmaceuticals at $290 million and vehicles at $207 million as top items.

French investments in Egypt reached $767.1 million in fiscal year 2024/25, a 58.6% increase. Egyptian investments in France grew 67.1% to $398.1 million. Remittances from Egyptians in France climbed 40.2% to $99.7 million.
