Egypt launches industrial fund and unified investment platform

Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid announced the launch of an industrial fund under the Egyptian Sovereign Fund and a unified digital platform to support industry and exports during the Fifth Engineering Export Excellence Awards.

The announcement was made during the minister's participation in the Fifth Engineering Export Excellence Awards organised by the Engineering Export Council under the patronage of the Prime Minister and in the presence of the Ministers of Finance and Industry.

Farid said the government is establishing an industrial fund to support industrial expansion projects and reduce investment risks. He also confirmed that approvals have been completed for the Economic Entities Platform which will allow investors to track approvals and licences from various authorities.

Sherif El-Sayad chairperson of the Engineering Export Council said engineering exports reached $2.5bn in the first four months of 2026 up from $2.1bn in the same period last year representing growth of around 20%.

The ceremony honoured several companies including Samsung Electronics Egypt which received three major awards and El Sewedy Cables which won Best Egyptian Exporter for large enterprises.
