Um ancião de Katsemeri, em Kilifi, entregou sua filha e os cinco filhos dela ao pai das crianças sem exigir o pagamento do dote. A decisão foi tomada após ele se cansar das visitas frequentes do homem à sua casa, que alegava ser noivo da jovem enquanto economizava para o pagamento.

Katsemeri, Kilifi – Um ancião local surpreendeu os moradores ao entregar sua filha e os cinco netos ao pai das crianças sem que nenhum dote fosse pago. As visitas do homem começaram há vários anos, antes mesmo de a filha começar a ter filhos, e ela agora tem cinco.

Sempre que questionado sobre suas estadias frequentes, o homem dizia ser noivo da filha do ancião e que o momento de oficializar o casamento ainda não havia chegado, pois ele ainda estava juntando o valor do dote.

Recentemente, ao chegar à casa como de costume, ele encontrou o ancião esperando do lado de fora com a filha e as crianças. "Agora conversei com minha filha e meus netos. Leve sua família e vá. Não preciso de dote. Por enquanto, leve-os de coração aberto e assuma a responsabilidade", disse o ancião ao homem.

Os moradores da região ficaram surpresos com a atitude, que destaca as tensões que podem surgir nos costumes matrimoniais.
