The 21st edition of Fana Lamrot music competition will begin next week featuring new emerging stars. More than 700 pre-qualifiers led to the selection of 16 top contestants.
Addis Ababa, Tikimt 20, 2018 (Fana) – The 21st edition of Fana Lamrot music competition will launch next week with a lineup of new stars. This edition marks the sixth winners' competition for Fana Lamrot.
The 16 selected contestants, chosen from over 700 pre-qualifiers, will perform their works in two rounds alongside a star band. The competition spans 13 weeks, during which contestants compete weekly through their own music selections, judges, and audience votes. Music experts and judges will vote based on the sounds provided by contestants via short text messages.
The top four finalists will receive a prize of 1 million birr. The premiere airs on Tikimt 22, 2018 E.C., starting at 6:00 PM, broadcast live on Fana Television and all Fana digital platforms. Viewers can participate in judging by sending contestant codes to the short code 8222 and providing their vote via sound.
