The University of Nevada announced that five alpine skiers have qualified for the 2026 NCAA Skiing Championships, the most for the program's alpine efforts since 2010. Erica Lynch, Sophia Falter, Pietro Bisello, David Morken and Peyton Wells earned spots during Wednesday's selection show. The event will take place March 11-14 at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah.

The NCAA Men's and Women's Skiing Committee selected 74 men and 74 women for the 2026 National Collegiate Skiing Championships, announced on March 4, 2026. For the Nevada Wolf Pack, five alpine skiers made the cut: Erica Lynch, Sophia Falter, Pietro Bisello, David Morken and Peyton Wells. This marks the largest alpine contingent from Nevada since 2010, when the program sent six alpine and five Nordic skiers to nationals.

Erica Lynch, from Mammoth, California, has had a standout season since the program's reinstatement in 2022-23. She finished third in giant slalom at the Utah Invitational, Nevada's first podium since reinstatement. Lynch recorded five top-10 finishes in giant slalom, including three in the top five, and three top-five finishes in slalom with five top-10s overall.

David Morken, a Truckee native, secured top-10 giant slalom finishes at three of the last four regular-season events, including ninth at the Utah Invitational.

Sophia Falter, Pietro Bisello and Peyton Wells, all in strong debut seasons, round out the group. Falter, a freshman, placed eighth in giant slalom at the RMISA Championships. Bisello finished fifth there, with the fastest second run in giant slalom. Wells notched top-10 slalom finishes at the RMISA Alpine Qualifier and Nevada Invitational at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe.

Selections are based on regional performance from the West Region, with a maximum of 12 athletes per institution. Giant slalom races are set for March 11, followed by slalom on March 13 at the championships hosted at Utah Olympic Park.
