Frederik Dichow targets Timrå IK return after tough injury year

Danish goaltender Frederik Dichow is preparing for the SHL season with Timrå IK following a difficult campaign marked by injuries. He played in the Olympics for Denmark despite setbacks but missed the World Championship.

Dichow suffered a concussion early last season while with HV71. He later developed Tietze's syndrome, an inflammation in the chest joints, which sidelined him for an extended period.

He appeared in just 10 SHL games during the year. Despite the issues, Dichow elected to represent Denmark at the Olympics earlier in the year.

"It is the biggest thing one can perhaps experience in Danish ice hockey," he said. His attempt to return for the World Championship proved too soon after months of limited activity, and he sat out the event.

Dichow has joined Timrå IK and is training at about 90 percent capacity. He aims to be ready for the SHL opener while continuing his recovery.
