Furlani and Tentoglou set for long jump clash at Czech Indoor Gala

Mattia Furlani and Miltiadis Tentoglou will face off for the first time in 2026 at the Czech Indoor Gala in Ostrava. Furlani won in Ostrava last year with 8.23m. The long jump field also includes European indoor champion Bozhidar Saraboyukov, who has jumped 8.26m this season, and Sweden’s Thobias Montler.

In the 3000m, world 1500m champion Isaac Nader opens his 2026 campaign, marking his first track race since Tokyo and first indoor 3000m in four years. He faces Ermias Girma, Wegene Adisu, Milkesa Fikadu, Pietro Arese, and Tshepo Tshite.

The women’s 60m features European indoor champion Zaynab Dosso against world indoor bronze medallist Patrizia van der Weken, Britain’s Amy Hunt, and Czech record-holder Karolina Manasova, who ran 7.05 recently.

The 800m events reunite recent medallists. Women’s: world indoor champion Prudence Sekgodiso versus silver medallist Nigist Getachew, plus Gabriela Gajanova and Anita Horvat. Men’s: 2025 European indoor podium of Samuel Chapple, Elliot Crestan, and Mark English (recent 1:44.65 Irish record), with Filip Ostrowski (1:44.68 PB) and Noah Kibet.

Other highlights include men’s shot put with Olympic bronze medallist Rajindra Campbell, Andrei Toader, Wictor Petersson, and Jordan Geist; women’s pole vault pitting Tina Sutej against Amalie Svabikova; hurdles events led by Jakub Szymanski and Pia Skrzyszowska; and 400m races featuring Attila Molnar (45.08) and Lieke Klaver. The women’s 1500m is headed by Birke Haylom, Saron Berhe, Innes FitzGerald, Axumawit Embaye, and Marta Zenoni.

This meet builds momentum toward the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze 26 and the World Athletics Ultimate Championship.
