Hanna Lodin was a tenth of a second from her first Ski Classics win in the latest event in Jizerska. The 26-year-old Swedish skier now aims for a podium spot in Vasaloppet, starting tomorrow. She lies fourth overall and is satisfied with two podiums so far this season.
Hanna Lodin, 26, is on a strong path in the Ski Classics season. After seven events, she lies fourth overall on the women's side and is the top Swedish skier ahead of Vasaloppet. In the latest competition in Czech Jizerska, she was very close to her career's first win but finished a tenth of a second behind her teammate Anikken Gjerde Alnaes.
"Super excited! Being so close to taking my first win shows it's not far away and it gives me a taste for more, definitely," Lodin tells SVT Sport.
She has already secured two podium finishes this season and stresses the need to keep working hard with six competitions left. "I'm super satisfied overall, I've grabbed two podiums already so it shows I have a high level this year too. Just keep working, six races left now," she adds.
Lodin looks forward to Vasaloppet with great enthusiasm. "I look forward very much to starting tomorrow," she says. The race is a highlight in Ski Classics and offers her a chance to approach a long-awaited victory. She has developed her skiing during the season and plans strategically for the start.
