Hyderabad police seize adulterated oil and repackaged flour in Gachibowli

Hyderabad's Madhapur Special Operations Team raided two locations and seized over 5,000 litres of adulterated cooking oil along with 5,000 kg of wheat flour. The accused are a father-son duo from Rajasthan. The operation took place on March 9, 2026.

A report published on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, details how Hyderabad police's Madhapur Special Operations Team (SOT) conducted raids at two locations in the city on Monday. The operations resulted in the seizure of thousands of litres of adulterated cooking oil and wheat flour.

The accused individuals are 46-year-old Bhanwar Ram and his 22-year-old son Ashok Kumar, both natives of Rajasthan. According to police, the father-son duo had been running an adulteration racket from various premises in NTR Nagar and Vattinagulapally in Gachibowli. The adulterated oil consisted of expired cooking oil mixed with soybean oil. Additionally, expired wheat flour was being repackaged for sale.

This incident highlights food adulteration concerns in Hyderabad, where authorities have seized the materials and initiated further investigations.
