Indonesia appointed deputy commander of ISF in Gaza

Indonesia has been appointed as Deputy Commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza, announced at the inaugural Board of Peace meeting in Washington DC. The appointment was made by ISF Commander Major General Jasper Jeffers, with Indonesia set to deploy 8,000 TNI personnel for humanitarian missions.

The force is focused on stabilization to enable civilian governance. Indonesia joins alongside Morocco, Albania, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, Egypt, and Jordan.

"I want to announce that I have offered, and Indonesia has accepted, the position of Deputy Commander for the ISF. With these initial steps, we will help bring the security Gaza needs for future prosperity and lasting peace," stated Jasper Jeffers.

President Prabowo Subianto affirmed Indonesia's commitment to supporting global peace, particularly in Gaza. "This ceasefire achievement is real. We are ready to deploy those forces to actively participate in the International Stabilization Force to ensure this peace succeeds," he emphasized.

Indonesia will send 8,000 Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) personnel for non-combat roles, including humanitarian, medical, and reconstruction tasks. Prabowo expressed optimism despite potential obstacles. "Indonesia fully agrees and is fully committed to this plan. That is why we joined the Board of Peace. We are committed to its success. We know there will be many obstacles and difficulties, but we are very optimistic," he added.

This appointment reflects Indonesia's initial commitment, which has been promoted globally for peace in Palestine.
