Apple TV+ drama The Morning Show has added Jeff Daniels to its ensemble cast for the upcoming fifth season. The actor, known from HBO's The Newsroom, will recur as Lukas, a self-made billionaire and founder of a prominent investment firm. Jeff Daniels, acclaimed for portraying news anchor Will McAvoy in HBO's The Newsroom, returns to a journalistic drama in Apple TV+'s The Morning Show. Reports from Deadline and TVLine confirm his recurring role as Lukas ahead of season 5.
This marks Daniels' third Apple TV project, following narration of the 2021 documentary 9/11: Inside the President’s War Room and his role as Randy in Shrinking season 3.
The Morning Show stars Jennifer Aniston as Alex Levy and Reese Witherspoon as Bradley Jackson, chronicling behind-the-scenes intrigue at a major news network.
