Jennie celebrates one-year anniversary of Ruby album

Jennie has marked the one-year anniversary of her debut solo album Ruby with the release of an expanded collection. The project, launched in 2025, achieved significant commercial and critical success in the K-pop landscape. This milestone highlights her transition to independent artistry following her departure from previous labels.

Jennie’s album Ruby, released on March 7, 2025, through ODD ATELIER in partnership with Columbia Records, stands as a landmark in K-pop solo debuts. It represented her first full-length solo effort after leaving YG Entertainment and Interscope Records in 2023, granting her greater creative control in her career.

To commemorate the anniversary, Jennie issued Ruby (The Complete Collection) on March 6, 2026, an expanded edition that revisits the original tracks. The album quickly demonstrated strong market performance, selling more than one million copies worldwide in its first week, with over 660,000 units in South Korea according to Hanteo data. This marked the highest first-week sales for a K-pop female solo artist in 2025.

Ruby debuted in the Top 10 across 19 countries, underscoring its international appeal. In the United States, it entered the Billboard 200 at No. 7, tying with Lisa’s chart position and trailing only Rosé’s Rosie among K-pop female soloists. On the UK Albums Chart, it reached No. 3, setting a record as the highest-charting album by a female K-pop soloist and matching Jung Kook’s Golden for any K-pop solo act.

Streaming figures further emphasized its reach, with the album surpassing 2.6 billion streams on Spotify by March 2026, positioning it among the most-streamed releases by a K-pop female soloist.

The album garnered substantial recognition, securing six Asian Pop Music Awards, three Golden Disc Awards, three Melon Music Awards, two MAMA Awards, and two Korean Music Awards. Jennie also received the Global Force Award at the Billboard Women in Music 2025 ceremony.
