Julia Jacklin announces new album The Gem

Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin has announced her fourth studio album, The Gem, set for release on September 25 via 4AD.

The album marks her debut on the 4AD label and her first full-length project in four years. It follows 2022's Pre Pleasure and 2019's Crushing.

Jacklin recorded The Gem entirely in Melbourne at Rat Shack Studios, located above a bar called The Gem in the Collingwood neighborhood. She produced the album with Robert Muinos.

The first single, “Get Away From Me (I Think I’ll Love You Soon),” is now available. In a statement, Jacklin said, “I want to love and be loved, but I also want to be free. The tension between those two things has been the central question of my life.”

Jacklin has also scheduled a tour across North America and Europe beginning October 20 in San Diego and running through early 2027.
