Keith David cast as agency head in NBC private investigator comedy pilot

Keith David joins Jake Johnson, previously cast in the lead, in the NBC comedy pilot about Los Angeles private investigators from *Brooklyn Nine-Nine* creators Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici. David plays Garner Taggart, the agency's tough, traditional-minded head.

Following the announcement of Jake Johnson's casting as cynical PI Mickey Wilder, Keith David has been added to the cast of the NBC comedy pilot centered on the Garner Taggart PI Agency in Los Angeles.

David portrays Garner Taggart, a no-nonsense figure with antiquated views who oversees the agency, where his son Mitch and Johnson’s Mickey handle cases—creating generational tension. Akiva Schaffer is directing and executive producing with Goor and Del Tredici; Universal Television is producing.

David's career highlights include Emmy-winning narration for Ken Burns documentaries (Jackie Robinson, The War, Unforgivable Blackness), films like American Fiction, Nope, 21 Bridges, Crash, and There’s Something About Mary, and TV roles in Abbott Elementary, Community, Greenleaf, The Gray House, and The Lowdown. He next stars opposite Vince Vaughn in Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. He is represented by Verve, DVFI Management, and Meyer & Downs.

This addition underscores NBC's commitment to ensemble comedies with seasoned talent.
