Khris Middleton returns to Wizards in six-team NBA trade

Khris Middleton has rejoined the Washington Wizards through a sign-and-trade agreement that expanded into a six-team deal involving 10 players across the NBA.

Late Tuesday night, the Wizards agreed to bring back Middleton on a three-year, $17.6 million contract. The move was structured as part of a larger transaction to maximize salary cap flexibility for all teams involved.

The deal includes players moving between the Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks. Key exchanges feature Isaiah Stewart heading to Memphis, Caris LeVert to Milwaukee and John Collins to Detroit.

Teams used the multi-team format to preserve trade exceptions and mid-level exceptions. The Wizards avoided using their full mid-level exception immediately, while the Grizzlies and Bucks gained flexibility for future moves.

Such combined transactions are common during the July moratorium period to meet procedural salary cap rules without altering the underlying agreements.
