Kiki Wolfkill leaves Microsoft after 28 years at Xbox

Kiki Wolfkill, a veteran Halo executive producer and head of film and TV at Xbox, has departed Microsoft after 28 years. She confirmed her exit on LinkedIn, noting last Friday as her final day. Wolfkill expressed excitement about pursuing opportunities outside the company.

Wolfkill joined Microsoft in 1998 as director of art at Microsoft Game Studios, holding the role through 2007. She later became executive producer for Halo 4 at 343 Industries and led Halo's transmedia and entertainment efforts, contributing to the Halo TV show. More recently, she oversaw film and TV projects for the broader Xbox brand under new CEO Asha Sharma's leadership at Xbox. Wolfkill helped develop the Fallout series adaptation for Amazon, the Minecraft movie, and the upcoming Gears of War project for Netflix. Windows Central mentioned a Diablo show and other undisclosed initiatives in connection with her work. A long-in-development Call of Duty movie is targeting a 2028 release. In her LinkedIn post, Wolfkill stated, 'There is a version of me outside of Microsoft that I'm excited to grow and evolve.' She hinted at upcoming announcements about her next steps and has prior experience with the Tribeca Film Festival and other media organizations.
